Bylaws were voted on at the last business meeting and all changes passed. 4 new tents and tent footprints were approved to be purchased.

Venturing Crew 270 in Thurmont, Maryland

Venturing Crew 270 is a co-ed organization for young men and women, ages 14 through 20 (or 13 and graduated the 8th grade), who want opportunities to explore the outdoors, learn new life skills, develop character and leadership, and help out your community with a little bit of service. We are sponsored by the Thurmont Conservation & Sportsman’s Club, Inc.

Our regular activities include but are not limited to:

  • A business meeting 1st Sunday of the month at 6:00 p.m.  We currently meet in the Clubhouse of the Sportsman’s Club (11617 Hunt Club Rd.) in Thurmont.
  • At least one activity meeting during the month (Come to a business meeting to learn more)
  • At least one outdoor adventure, activity or training activity per month.
  • Occasional community service projects.
All members of Crew 270 should register on the Web site so that we can upgrade your membership status to ‘Author’.  This will allow you to see content not available to non-Crew members, submit articles to the Web site and keep your information up to date.

Important Notes

Meeting Night & Time: The Business Meeting is the 1st and 3rd Sunday night of the month from 6:00PM – 8:00PM, currently at the Thurmont Conservation & Sportsman’s Club, 11617 Hunt Club Rd. Thurmont, MD 21788 in the Clubhouse and activities will be conducted per whatever the calendar says.
Are you 13 but NOT graduated the 8th grade yet?  Come check us out and join in and participate in some of our activities. Start fund raising for when you can join up! We have a special plan for those “not quite” able to join yet so that you can work with the crew up until you turn 14 or June 1st (the official program date of the new school year).  Want to know more?  Email us at info@crew270.com.
The Crew’s Super Trip (Tier III Adventure) in 2022 is a “home-grown” week camping and exploring! One day we’ll be going to NYC, one day we’ll be on the range, shooting, another will be spent having a pool party, other days we’ll be doing more great adventures!   Come join the Super Adventures today!
